PHILOSOPHY
Good design realises the potential of any space. It involves considered choices teamed with a sense of bravery. As a designer, I have a strong understanding of how interiors come together, from the architecture of a space to the furniture and soft furnishings that fill it. Colour palette, material choice and finishes are all equally important. Each element is essential to creating one cohesive look that is both resolved and innovative. On a personal level, I have an immense appreciation for a range of design periods and styles. For me, spaces truly work when balance is created through contrast. They should tell a story about the people who inhabit them. As an interior designer, I am required to design ultimately for my clients. This flexibility, along with an ever-changing industry has imbued me with an innate sense of creative freedom. Today, contemporary design has to encompass several key issues: financial, social and importantly, environmental points of view, all of which need to be addressed by client and designer, together.

Fabio Diliberto is an award winning Exhibition Designer with roots in Interior Architecture. He has a B.Tech Degree in Interior Design from CPUT (Cape Town) and has over 20 years experience in design, ranging from retail spaces, corporate and domestic interiors to exhibition stands and point of sale displays.
​
Father of two, when not designing, he can be found in the kitchen, playing his guitar or hiking the slopes of Table Mountain.

Principal Designer
Taking the vast experience gained - as well as the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the exhibitions & events industry, the decision was made to explore my own avenue in corporate, retail and domestic interior design consultation. I have been integrally involved in the design of hundreds of unique projects over two decades making me a multi-faceted designer with a broad range of capabilities.
2003-2021
MARKETING MERCHANTS
Head Designer
During my time at Marketing Merchants, I introduced CAD systems into the design studio allowing us to increase output, improve quality and strengthen our competitive edge. We were thus able to grow our client base and in the process, we went on to win numerous stand design awards across a broad spectrum of industries.
2001-2003
OASYS EXHIBITIONS
Senior Designer
Oasys Exhibitions contracted me to grow their custom design department in Cape Town. Up to that point, their focus was on exhibition infrastructure only - providing modular booths, carpeting and electrics to prospective exhibitors. I was able to grow a new department which focused on individual design needs resulting in Oasys being able to offer a full turn-key service resulting in increased turnover.
1999-2001
MADHOUSE CAPE
Designer
I joined Madhouse Cape and was introduced to the fast-paced world of Exhibition Design. I was able to draw on my experience in the film industry and was able to adapt to the quick turn-around times required to get exhibition stands completed.
1998-1999
SHUTTERHOUSE STUDIOS
Set Designer
I joined Shutterhouse Studios after completing my B.Tech Degree in Interior Design. My role was to design sets for commercials - both still and moving, and to provide illustration mock ups for set directors.
